The concept of “knowing” implies a very intimate unity. This intimate bond can be physical, emotional, intellectual or spiritual.
For example, Understanding is the same term used in Genesis 4:1 to describe Adam having sexual relations with Eve. It is also used to describe “spiritual knowledge,” in terms of connection to God, in Daniel 12:4.
